In August this year the Golden Sands Poker Festival was created and managed by TeamEurope Ltd and held at Stanley Casino in Torquay, UK. This was a test festival that has subsequently been reviewed, and discussed how this type of event can be improved, rolled out across the UK and be integrated more online. TeamEurope has now successfully secured a contract with Genting Stanley to supply poker services through to spring 2008.

Therefore it has been agreed that on 26th March to 30th March 2008 inclusive, the Genting Stanley National Poker Championships will take place in the UK. This will be at 3 locations , Manchester, Nottingham and Southend. This has been done to coordinate with a league that will be running in 23 casinos throughout the group. The idea is that players will not have to travel far and with a low entry fee we can fill all 3 casinos over one weekend across the UK. The tournament is only £500 and is aimed at online and new cash players. This is a test to see how successful on line qualifiers will be and which networks work best with us and our client.

Following on from this we intend to run a series of tournaments worldwide with much bigger prizes and buy ins. Genting are one of the world’s largest gaming investors and this is a massive opportunity to partner with a new and substantial entrant to the poker industry.

The Torquay Golden Sands Festival In August of this year was very successful, the £500 main event had over 100 entries and paid out over $100,000 in prize money and was only ran from one casino.
